A versatile Chinese bamboo known for its fine, feathery, bright green foliage. Grows compactly, forms dense clumps and can be maintained at small sizes for bonsai or trimmed hedges. In the ground it grows tall, making it ideal for decorative borders and privacy screens.
Care guide
- Sun to semi shade
- Normal (can tolerate more) Needs regular moisture during active growth
- Plant in soil rich in leaf mould or organic matter. Keep well-watered during fast growth seasons. Trim old culms to maintain a compact shape. Can be maintained between 0.5 m to 3 m with pruning, or allowed to reach full height in open ground.
