Medium care
Curculigo is a long-forgotten ornamental plant still found in old gardens. Though commonly called Ground Orchid, it is not an orchid. It has tuberous roots and long, lance-shaped, pleated green leaves that give a lush tropical appearance. Small yellow flowers appear close to the ground and are usually hidden under foliage.
Care guide
- Sun, Semi shade, Shade (best in semi shade)
- Normal (soil should not dry out)
- Performs best in semi-shaded locations with well-drained, rich soil, though it tolerates poor soils too. Requires regular watering—do not allow soil to dry out. Thrives in warm, humid regions and works well as a hedge, border, or mass groundcover in landscaping projects.
